JOHOR BAHRU, 28 May – Movie buffs and families in Johor Bahru can now enjoy a wholesome cinematic experience as MBO Cinemas launched a range of unique viewing concepts at their latest outlet in AEON Mall Bandar Dato’ Onn, Johor.

The cinema, located on the second floor of the shopping centre, will feature three MBO special halls, namely the family-friendly KECIL, the mega-sized BIG SCREEN and the revolutionary MX4D, with the latter two being introduced for the first time at the state.

As the pioneers of the family-friendly cinema hall concept in Malaysia, MBO has long established a strong reputation for their flagship KECIL halls, especially among families with children.

One of the distinguishing and the most iconic aspect of the KECIL hall is the introduction of a kids playground inside the cinema halls.

MBO Cinemas has so far established a total of 9 KECIL halls in the country including their latest outlet in AEON Bandar Dato’ Onn.

The latest outlet is the cinema chain’s seventh location to feature the KECIL concept and it will also be the first MBO outlet in the southern region to host two KECIL halls under one roof.

MBO’s Chief Operating Officer, Cheah Chun Wai said, “We were the first cinema chain in the country to introduce the family-friendly cinema hall concept through KECIL and we always knew that it was a gamechanger, redefining the way parents and children interacted with each other at the movies.”

“Today, we are proud to be the frontrunners of an interesting change in the country’s cinema landscape operating the most number of family-friendly cinema halls in the country,” said Chun Wai.

Chun Wai also expressed his delight at being able to finally introduce two of the company’s flagship offerings, the Big Screen and MX4D for the first time in Johor.

“Two of our most technologically-advanced concepts, the Big Screen and MX4D are both major crowd-pullers across the country and we are excited to finally introduce them here for the locals to experience”, said Chun Wai.
MBO’s Big Screen hall in AEON Bandar Dato Onn comes with Dolby Atmos surround sound technology and it also features one of the biggest screens in Johor.
