MEDIA RELEASE: Competitors Vying for Champion in 16 minutes Speed Eating Contest

Johor Bahru, 17/4/2018 – A big eater came to compete SDS #LongLoafChallenge 2018 of 16 inches long loaf with ½ KG Golden Fries at Paradigm Mall Johor Bahru on 17th April 2018.


“I came to break the record, and win,” said Rainbow Kumi (Tng Mei Fong, 27), Malaysia famous female champion eater who was also one of the challengers.

Challengers came in one goal. Nine challengers, including Rainbow Kumi, were lined up to speed eat SDS 16 inches long loaf served with 0.5KG golden fries within 16 minutes.

Challenge started after signing consent form. Challengers stuffed their face in long loaf set presented in front of them. Rainbow Kumi was crowned champion once she finished long loaf set in 4 minutes 7 seconds. Another successful challenger, Mr. Kua Zhi Jian completed the challenge in 16 minutes, right on time when the challenge stopped.

“I can be faster if not because I’m sick today,” commented Rainbow Kumi.

“I’m aiming to finish the whole set below three minutes. It’s pity that I’ve hurt my jaw recently, and this slowed down my speed. I hope to get well soon and break faster record.”

Rainbow Kumi was the only female challenger during the challenge. She has broken an earlier record of 10 minutes 56 seconds set by Mr. B.K. Padam.

Rainbow Kumi and Mr. Kua were awarded SDS #LongLoafChallenge 2018 champion drape and certificate to certified their champion status. Other challengers who failed the challenge were given free cappuccino voucher which can be used during their next visit to SDS Cafe outlets. Top 5 challengers are to compete in Finale Championship up for a year dining voucher.

“We are surprised by the challengers’ courage and determination,” said Ms. Alice Loh, Marketing Manager of SDS.

“They are determined to finish the huge set of long loaf at their fastest speed. Although some failed, they have proven champion in spirit as they have challenged their limits and did their best.”

SDS #LongLoafChallenge 2018 was launched in early April, and have attracted many challengers. SDS #LongLoafChallenge 2018 will be carried out until 30th June 2018 at SDS cafe outlets. Customers are invited to walk-in and take up the challenge. Long loaf set served during the challenge is free of charge for successful challengers. Certificate and champion drape will be given to commemorate their capability.

“We dare heavy eaters to challenge the huge set of long loaf within 16 minutes, and we look forward to the next record breaker.” Ms. Alice commented.

Interested challenger may take up #LongLoafChallenge at any SDS participating outlets located at AEON Tebrau City (FANPEKKA CafĂ©), Taman Johor Jaya, City Square, Kota Tinggi, Taman Perling, AEON Kulaijaya, AEON Bandar Dato’ Onn, Taman Universiti, Paradigm Mall Johor Bahru, KSL City, and AEON Bukit Indah.

PEREMPUAN TAK PANDAI MASAK

Ramai orang judge mostly yang tak kahwin lagi mesti jarang masak or tak pandai masak. Aku jadi bersemangat nak betul-betul ada masa untuk masak disebabkan oleh faktor aku nak saving. Aku banyak nak spent and invest dekat benda lain. Pada aku kalau makan luar tu aku akan betul-betul tengok whether it is worth it or not. So macam mana aku boleh ada semangat nak masak?

Tahun 2015 tak silap aku ada beli periuk Noxxa pressure cooker. aku beli sebab aku nampak banyak yang boleh aku buat dengan periuk ni. So, aku start dengan google dan tengok dalam group Fb pengguna periuk Noxxa cara diorang masak. Lama-lama aku jadi rasa mudah.

Dalam seminggu tu boleh dikatakan  majoriti aku memang masak lah. Kadang sempat amek gambar kadang terlupa sebab lapar. hahahhaa. Bila pakai pressure cooker ni, masakan kita akan jadi lagi sedap and just nice rasa dia.Kita tak payah nak bersungguh letak lagi perasa or other ingredients dalam masakan kita.


Tips aku kalau yang memang serius nak belajar masak secara konsisten ialah tengok resepi yang simple dulu. Contoh masak ayam kicap, kari , masak sos , sup, tomyam. Dah nama pun simple, google lah macam “resepi ayam masak kicap simple mudah”. So dia tak ada la bagi bahan-bahan yang susah nak cari.

Seterusnya, banyak kan berkawan dengan mereka yang selalu masak, yang dah kahwin. Macam aku akan tanya , “akak masak macam mana ehk?” , “selalu pakai apa yer?”. Haa,tanya lah. Bila dah tanya time kau beli barang dapur, cuba cuba belajar beli bahan yang asas je dulu. Contoh bawang merah & putih, halia. benda basic yang selalu ada dalam masakan.


Dan korang juga jangan jadi cerewet dan lurus bendul dengan resepi. Contoh macam dalam resepi tulis guna bawang besar, tapi yang ada dekat dapur rumah korang bawang kecil. Guna je apa yang ada di depan mata. Arwah ibu aku selalu pesan “jangan jadikan alasan tak cukup bahan tak nak masak”. NO!!! . Aku dah biasa diajar begitu. Biar masak bahan-bahannya simple dan rasa nya just nice, atleast kosisten memasak tu penting.

Cara aku pulak kalau masak sayur tak payah nak bersungguh cukup bahan macam aksesori banyak sangat yang end up kau buang dan letak tepi je. Contohnya seperti cili merah ke, bawang hoolland. Kan MEMBAZIR. Style aku mostly masak tumis air je. Jarang pakai minyak, contoh masak kobis air . Masuk kobis letak serbuk knows serbuk perasa tu sedikit dan air biar sampai masak dan settle. Tak payah nak mencantikkan sangat masakan kita yang end up kita tak makan. Sama juga macam lauk, contoh ayam masak kicap, ada orang kan letak tomato sebagai aksesori yang ada tak makan, tak payah letak. Ingat! Jangan nak nampak cantik kan masakan end up kita membazir. Misi kita nak kosisten memasak sebab nak saving dan jaga kuantiti kandungan garam,gula yang akan masuk dalam badan kita.

Prinsip aku kalau nak makan sayur-sayur yang ada aksesori ni bila aku makan dekat luar. Dan juga lauk yang memerlukan kos yang banyak, aku takkan masak. Aku lebih prefer makan je dekat luar. Contohnya, dekat rumah kau semua orang tak makan laksa. Kau je seorang yang makan. Tebiat apa nak masak? Makan jela kat luar. Dalam masakan juga kita dipupuk untuk ada sikap kita bertimbang rasa.



Bukan itu sahaja, aku juga tak akan masak masakan yang leceh yang perlukan masa menyiapkan sangat lama. Lebih baik beli je. Ingat point mula mula aku, cari resepi SIMPLE , MUDAH , RINGKAS. Okay,selamat mencuba. Ikhlas,ain masak.
